What's Your Excuse?

I don’t have the time. I don’t have the money. I’m tired. Excuses. If you’re one of those people who hide behind a list of excuses of why things can’t be done, I encourage you to stop right now. Because I’m not buying it.

There are the same 24 hours in every day where countless people are making things happen. Living the kind of life that you want to live. There are countless people who didn’t have money, started with an idea and made it happen. Are you tired? Perhaps you’re just uninspired. Perhaps you haven’t really sat down to consider what you want in your life.

The thing is, we all have every resource available to us. What do you want? You have to REALLY want it. Once you make the DECISION to go after something you’ve never had, you’re going to have to be willing to do something you’ve never done.

You’re old limiting beliefs….those paradigms that want to keep you safe….are going to creep up. They’re going to tell you a list of reasons on why something can’t be done. It’s going to require determination and persistence. It’s going to require you to change your beliefs and habits.

There are so many people who want to reach for the mountaintop, but remain at the base because, chances are, they started and retreated at the first obstacle that presented itself. If you want to create positive change in your life (relationships, finances, career, health, appearance, attitude, lifestyle, etc.) you cannot continue to do the same things expecting a different result. No one is going to do the work for you. No one else can do the weightlifting for you.

The dictionary defines an excuse as “a reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense”. An excuse is rarely, if ever, followed by positive action towards a goal.

There is no one person on this earth better than someone else. There are those people who create a vision for what they want and fearlessly chase. They do the things that they don’t want to do knowing that every step forward, however small, is still a step towards their goal.

Then there are those people who sit on the sidelines watching others wishing for that better life and, in doing so, settle for mediocrity. They refuse to take accountability and responsibility for their life and the results that they are getting.

Don’t be the latter. Don’t think about why something can’t be done. Think about why it can.

Don’t put it off until tomorrow when you can begin to create change in your life today.
