The robins singing, buds sprouting through the earth, warmer temperatures…….all represent the new beginnings of Spring. It’s a perfect time to clean out the closets and transition from winter gear and prepare for warmer months ahead. You may also be thinking about opening the windows to let the fresh Spring air through the house. The old adage saying “out with the old and in with the new”. Not only is this a great time to transition your physical space, it’s also a great time for personal transformation.
Easter….Spring…..all representative of rebirth and new life. This also holds true for your state of mind. Take stock of where you are in your life and note what’s working and what’s not. Once you are aware of areas that you might like to change, you can replace routines and habits that no longer serve you with routines and habits that support a refreshed version of you. Here are some tips to help identify old mindsets to make room for positive changes in your life.
1: Take Stock
Get out your journal and write out different areas of your life and the results that you are currently getting. In another column, write out the results that you would like. Write down fears, or doubts that might be holding you back from achieving your desired results.
2: Dream Big
Life is not by chance. Life is not happening to us. We need to dream big and set goals and take action towards reaching those goals in our day to day actions.
Be intentional about where you want to be and start taking inspired action to reach them.
3: Get Quiet
In the age of modern technology, we are bombarded by calls, texts, alerts and notifications. It’s important to detach from all these distractions and carve out time to get grounded and be still. It’s in the moments of stillness where new ideas are born for inspired action towards your goals.
4: Move Your Body
A healthy body is integral to a healthy mind. Making time in your day for physical activity whether it’s a walk, yoga, swimming or dancing. The activity is less important than the intention of making space to get your body moving so your mind and body are in balance.
5: Start Your Day With Gratitude
Anytime we make an effort for transformation, it may feel overwhelming. Be compassionate with yourself and continue to make consistent action forward towards your goals. Setbacks are a normal part of the process.
Make time each morning to journal out some things that you are grateful for now and some things that you are grateful that you would like to bring into your life. Coming from a place of gratitude, raises your vibration and sets the tone for the day.
Just like the seasons are cyclical - so too is life. We are in a constant state of motion. Nothing rests. Seasons come and seasons go. No matter where you are at, you always have a new day to begin again.
